The Black Duck is a small town restaurant that is a meeting place for our loyal local clientele and a destination for travellers. We are open everyday for a quick coffee and sandwich to go. Catch-up with friends and a St.Viateur bagel in the booth, or a take a break with a book and muffin.
About Sarah & Al
Sarah Evans and Al Barbour opened the Black Duck in 2013 serving only espresso. Sarah and Al’s past lives include working in restaurants, cafés and bakeries, libraries and bicycle shops; creating screen prints, film sets, and cookbook zines; studying plant ecology and water resources; involved with farmers markets and community radio and social centres and long-distance cycling. They are committed to supporting our local economy, being a part in a sustainable food system, and working to revitalize Sackville’s downtown.
